Job summary
Sarasota County Government is seeking a Roadside Ditch Maintenance & Excavation Skilled Trades Worker to perform maintenance, construction, and repair of stormwater conveyance systems and related road right-of-way infrastructure. You will operate specialized equipment and respond to drainage issues to help keep our community safe and functioning.
The role requires a High School Diploma, 2 years of relevant experience, and a valid Florida driver’s license.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in stormwater maintenance/conveyance or road right-of-way maintenance.
- Must obtain a Class B CDL within six months of hire.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License at time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Maintain stormwater conveyance systems and appurtenances.
- Restore road right-of-ways and related properties.
- Operate vacuum/jet trucks, Gradall, backhoes, excavators and related equipment.
- Respond to customer complaints about stormwater systems and related issues.
- Submit work orders for completed tasks in a timely, professional manner.
