Job summary

Sarasota County is hiring for a position focused on maintaining stormwater conveyance systems and related road right-of-ways. You will operate specialized equipment, respond to issues, and ensure work orders are completed accurately and promptly.

Starting pay is $21.51 per hour with potential step increases for added experience. The role includes a strong benefits package and a focus on community service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater conveyance systems and/or road right-of-way areas.
• Must be able to acquire a Class B CDL within six months from the time of hire.
• A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on county stormwater conveyance systems and appurtenances.
• Restore road right-of-ways and properties related to stormwater maintenance and repairs.
• Operate equipment such as vacuum/jet trucks, Gradall, backhoes, excavators, and more.
• Respond to customer complaints about stormwater systems and related issues.
• Complete and submit work orders in a timely and professional manner.
