Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government is seeking a full-time, permanent Stormwater Management Inspector (Environmental Control Inspector) within the Department of Inspections and Permits. The role involves enforcing stormwater management and soil erosion control codes on construction sites and ensuring compliance with county and state regulations.

You will inspect projects, advise contractors and property owners, prepare inspection reports, review plans, and take corrective actions when needed.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of erosion control or related field experience.
• Maryland erosion control certificate or ability to obtain within six months.
• Valid non-commercial Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts soil erosion and sedimentation control and stormwater construction inspections.
• Advises contractors, land owners, and others regarding soil erosion and stormwater codes.
• Assists in the review of applications and issues permits; investigates problems and initiates corrective actions.
• Prepares written inspection reports and maintains records.
• Performs related work as required.
