Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government is seeking a full-time, safety-sensitive Stormwater Management Inspector (Environmental Control Inspector) to join the Department of Inspections and Permits. The role involves enforcing stormwater and erosion control codes on construction projects and providing guidance to contractors.

Responsibilities include inspecting sites, advising stakeholders, reviewing applications and permits, issuing corrective actions, and keeping thorough records.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in plan reading.
• Two or more years of experience in erosion control practices and infrastructure installations; Maryland certificate in erosion control or ability to obtain within six months; valid non-commercial Class C license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts soil erosion and sedimentation control and stormwater inspections on construction sites.
• Advises contractors and landowners on soil erosion and stormwater codes and regulations.
• Reviews applications, issues permits, investigates problems, and initiates corrective actions.
• Prepares written inspection reports and maintains records; attends seminars.
• Performs related duties as required.
