Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government is seeking a permanent full-time Engineering and Site Development Reviewer (Engineer III) in the Office of Inspections and Permits. The role involves reviewing road, stormwater, and utility plans for compliance, and coordinating with multiple county agencies to ensure timely, accurate submissions.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in engineering or a related field.
• Four (4) or more years of experience in professional engineering work; and a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Reviews road and storm drain plans, and water and sewer plans for permits and subdivisions.
• Reviews stormwater management plans, mitigation proposals, and downstream analyses for conformance to County, State, and Federal codes, standards, and regulations.
• Reviews Preliminary and Site Development Plans.
• Reviews subdivision plans and record plats.
• Reviews grading and building permits.
• Coordinates reviews with the Office of Planning and Zoning, Department of Public Works, and other county agencies.
• Meets with owners, consultants, developers, and outside agencies.
• Performs engineering work requiring independent evaluation and analysis of issues and the exercise of judgment to resolve problems and make recommendations.
• Responds to and investigates project design, review, and drainage questions, concerns, and requests.
