Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 15 credit hours in science or engineering or a 4-year combination of education and experience in environmental science or related area.
  • Knowledge of water quality laws and regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to manage inspections for multiple stormwater permits and work as part of a team or independently.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance inspections and audits for industrial, commercial, and municipal discharges in the Central Maine region.
  • Review NOI/NEC/NOT forms and SWMPs/SWPPPs and provide comments.
  • Enter data into applicable Department databases.
  • Interact with other inspectors, enforcement staff, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
