Job summary

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with science/engineering credits or a 4-year combination of education and environmental experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 credit hours of science or engineering coursework, or a 4-year combination of education and environmental experience.
  • Knowledge of water quality laws and regulations preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance inspections and audits for industrial, commercial, and municipal dischargers in the Central Maine region.
  • Review NOI, NEC, and NOT forms and SWMPs/SWPPPs for compliance.
  • Complete data entry into the Department's databases.
  • Interact with other inspectors, enforcement staff, and regulatory agencies.
