Job summary

The City of Glendale Water Services Department is seeking a skilled System Technician to perform construction, maintenance, and repair work on water and sewer infrastructure. The role involves operating a range of equipment, reading blueprints, and maintaining accurate records, with a strong focus on safety and public health.

Successful candidates will have two years of related experience, a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within 90 days, and the ability to work in a dynamic, safety‑driven

Qualifications

• Two years of construction, maintenance, and repair experience.
• Experience operating light to heavy equipment used in water/sewer work.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work.
• Operates light, medium, and heavy equipment described in the essential duties.
• Explains and enforces safety, barricading, and traffic control rules.
• Maintains daily work records and performs data entry tasks.
• Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs water mains, sewer mains, valves, hydrants, meters.
