Job summary

American Water is seeking a maintenance technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on water distribution and wastewater collection systems, including pumps, valves, hydrants, meters, and mains. The role includes operating electrical controls, troubleshooting, and coordinating with outside contractors as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Five (5) years’ experience in maintenance of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems.
• CDL preferred and able to pass motor vehicle background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water distribution and wastewater systems.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on valves, hydrants, meters, and mains.
• Drive company vehicle and follow safety policies.
