Job summary

Target is offering a paid Stores Executive Intern program in our retail stores. You’ll gain hands-on leadership experience, work with a mentor, and help drive guest service and store priorities while preparing for future Store Leadership roles.

This 40-hour weekly internship provides exposure to daily operations, team leadership, performance feedback, and development opportunities as you learn what it takes to lead within a Target store.

Qualifications

• Guest service fundamentals and experience building and managing a guest-first team culture across the store
• Guest engagement; problem-solving and resolution
• Retail business fundamentals
• Setting and planning department(s) workload to support business priorities and managing a team to deliver service and sales goals
• Managing a team of hourly team members and leaders while creating business strategies and goals
• Recruiting, selecting and talent management of hourly team members and leaders

Responsibilities

• Spending time on the store salesfloor and backroom leading team members and aligning the team on daily business priorities
• Working with your ETL mentor to gain an understanding of roles
• Leading through daily priorities (stocking shelves, safe environment, displays)
• Partnering with leaders regarding team member performance by coaching and feedback
• Addressing team member concerns to ensure smooth operations and goal attainment
• Leading daily huddles with leadership team and presenting priorities
• Providing summary of results and priorities with leadership team
• Setting goals with store leaders and guiding expectations
• Reviewing business reporting and guest insights to identify opportunities
• Delighting guests by ensuring knowledgeable and empowered team members
