They are responsible for ensuring fast, friendly customer service, helping customers navigate the wide range of products, and impacting customer satisfaction, store profitability, and Academy's Mission.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice preferred (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Work Experiences:

• Previous related work experience preferred.
• Experience operating POS equipment, symbol, and telephone preferred (Cashier only).
• Experience supporting people and processes to drive operational excellence and sales targets (Cashier only).
• 4+ years of personal outdoor hobbies and skills; fishing and hunting experience preferred (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• CPR and First Responder certification is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).
• Loss Prevention or Criminal Justice background is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Skills:

• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Ability to connect, build rapport, and engage with customers, especially those involved in sports and outdoor pursuits; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong organizational and detail orientation.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
• Proficiency with basic math and applying instructions in various formats.
• Operate and coach others on POS equipment, symbol, and telephone (Cashier only).
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence (Cashier only).
• Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems (Cashier only).
• Passion and knowledge of outdoor hobbies such as fishing, hunting, shooting, and camping (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• Must meet legal requirements for firearm transactions and FOID card (Illinois only) (Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member only).
• Proficient with basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
• Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
• Strong situational awareness and observation skills.

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good hearing and vision to perform job duties.
• Adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Constantly lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
• Stand, handle, and use fingers repetitively.
• Visual abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, and focus adjustment.
