They are responsible for ensuring fast, friendly customer service, helping customers navigate the wide range of products, and impacting customer satisfaction, store profitability, and Academy's Mission.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice preferred (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Work Experiences:

• Previous related work experience preferred.
• Experience operating POS equipment, symbol, and telephone preferred (Cashier only).
• Support of people and processes to drive operational excellence and sales targets (Cashier only).
• 4+ years of personal outdoor experience; fishing and hunting preferred (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• CPR and First Responder certification is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).
• Loss Prevention or Criminal Justice background is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Skills:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to connect, build rapport, and engage with customers; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Effective problem solving and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
• Proficiency with basic math and applying instructions.
• Operate POS, symbol, and telephone equipment (Cashier only).
• Ability to write routine reports and maintain inventory software (Cashier only).
• Passion and knowledge of outdoor hobbies such as fishing, hunting, shooting, and camping (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• Meet legal requirements for firearm transactions and FOID card (Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member only).
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
• Provide friendly, prompt customer service.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and situational awareness.

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good hearing and vision to perform job duties.
• Adherence to work hours, policies, and rules.
• Ability to walk, reach, talk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, lift up to 60 pounds, and handle repetitive motions.
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
