Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leader to plan, direct and supervise team members across departments, mentoring for growth and delivering excellent customer service. You will handle staffing, hiring, P&L responsibilities, ensure prime shopping hours, maintain presentation and safety standards, and drive sales through engaged teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Experience rotating through store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze basic financial data.
• Commitment to safety and attendance standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve service and sales.
• Staffing and hiring to meet department needs and maintain coverage.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on promotions when appropriate.
• Own P&L responsibilities; achieve sales targets and minimize shrink.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and uphold Meijer standards.
• Ensure comprehensive training and safety in all areas of the store.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and actions.
