Tender Loving Empire is seeking an Assistant Manager in Portland, OR to lead the sales team and uphold the TLE brand in store experiences. You will drive customer service excellence, supervise operations, and contribute to profitability through staffing, training, and merchandising standards.

The role emphasizes staff development, policy communication, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver superior customer experiences and consistent store performance.

Qualifications

• Onboarding and training new staff to close knowledge gaps
• Communicating updates, policies, and news to teams
• Coordinating inventory management and Lightspeed reporting
• Maintaining consistent in-store communication across channels
• Assisting deposits and resolving cash handling discrepancies
• Supporting staff reviews and coaching
• Ensuring store notes are current and actionable

Responsibilities

• Lead the sales team to deliver exemplary customer service
• Ensure profitability remains a front-line priority
• Recruit, hire, and develop talent to foster excellence
• Address courier issues and distribute shipments efficiently
• Cultivate an environment of creativity for in-store events
• Coach team on merchandising basics and loss prevention
• Manage day-to-day operations, opening/closing, and cash handling
• Collaborate with SM, MA, and SL/STM to meet sales goals
