Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Team Leader to manage all store employees and drive planning and execution of store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, presentation, and customer support. You will foster a customer-first culture and engage the team to deliver exceptional service.

You will recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff, ensure proper staffing, oversee inventory, merchandising, cash controls, and store safety, and model leadership in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Post-secondary business school training preferred.
• Experience in a retail management role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership to exceed customer expectations.
• Model and coach the team on balancing tasks with customer service to maintain a customer-centric culture.
• Evaluate customer feedback for employee training and coaching.
• Develop product knowledge and selling techniques to improve the customer experience.
• Maintain a safe, clean store environment and strong store standards.
• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees in compliance with laws and policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Train and develop store employees and manage performance, including counseling or termination when needed.
• Communicate store performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Ensure proper opening and closing of the store each day.
