Job summary

Family Dollar in Arcadia, FL is seeking a Part-time position to support store operations and customer service. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor, and help with opening/closing procedures.

The role involves following corporate directives, maintaining displays, and supporting the Store Manager in supervising staff. The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, ability to lift up to 55

• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and information requests related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-fronts
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follows procedures
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
