Job summary

Family Dollar in Port Saint Joe, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is organized and well-displayed.

The role requires strong communication and teamwork, with preferred store-management experience in retail. Part-time position with responsibilities including opening/closing, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical activities such as walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked and organized store and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and adhere to safety policies.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
