Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store focused on customers. You will work under the Store Manager to supervise staff, manage merchandise, and handle deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, opening/closing the store, training staff, and ensuring planograms and inventory controls are maintained, with emphasis on profitability and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cashier functions.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and planograms as directed.
• Ensure cashier accountability and count tills; deposit funds as required.
• Assist in store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
