Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, engage customers, and organize merchandise from delivery to sales floor while ensuring seasonal areas meet brand standards.

You will help train Store Associates, participate in opening/closing tasks, protect assets, and uphold safety and company policies, in a fast-paced, high-energy retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required; ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposit receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards (sales floor and stockroom).
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
