Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Beaumont, Texas to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in a retail or grocery environment. You will work closely with the Store Manager to train staff and maintain a positive, high-energy store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
