Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts in Washington state is seeking a Sales Specialist to lead the store team, deliver outstanding customer service to retail and professional customers, and supervise showroom operations.

You will assist in hiring, coaching team members, manage peak-hour staffing, and ensure efficient merchandise handling, returns, and inventory controls while adhering to company policies.

Qualifications

• Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS Certification.
• Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification, ASE Certification, fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team members execute programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours (lunch, late-afternoon, evenings, weekends).
• Assist in setting team member goals, providing feedback and coaching/mentoring to maintain current training status.
• Assist in the hiring process: complete recruiting tasks, schedule and participate in interviews, evaluate candidates, and collaborate with management to select qualified team members.
• Ensure the telephone is answered in accordance with company policy.
• Process buy-online/ship-to-store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders; notify customers of shipment arrivals as needed.
• Utilize the electronic purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and in line with procedure.
• Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately with the correct payment method, and stage returned merchandise properly.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and ensure Image Maker and merchandising tasks are delegated and completed as assigned.
• Ensure team members comply with company policies, adhere to posted schedules, obtain approval for deviations, and clock in/out correctly.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, verifying deposits, preparing bank deposits, securing the building and vehicles, and managing security alarms.
• Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage and lighting, computer hardware, in-store equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
