Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Chesterfield, VA. You will assist with daily store functions, help customers, manage merchandising flows, and support opening/closing tasks while ensuring policies and safety standards are followed.

The role emphasizes training Store Associates, maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment, and delivering excellent service to customers and leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers and address questions with a positive, approachable manner.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits.
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked store and secure assets.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety guidelines, and procedures.
• Support Store Manager with training and development of store associates.
