Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store under the Store Manager. You will supervise staff, oversee merchandise presentation, inventory, deposits, and loss prevention while ensuring profitability.

The role involves opening/closing, training, scheduling, planograms, cashier operations, and maintaining safety and compliance. This position offers full-time hours at our Bluff City, TN location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner.
• Strong organizational and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes for receiving, stocking, restocking and displaying merchandise.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls.
• Support planograms and merchandise presentation according to direction.
• Ensure cash accountability, deposits and store security; manage refunds and overrides.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
