Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to uphold a customer-first store environment. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, handle deposits, and perform stocking and cashier duties to maximize profitability and protect assets.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, safety meetings, ensuring policy compliance, and maintaining inventory accuracy while following company security practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and damages control.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation.
• Maintain cash handling integrity and deposits; assist refunds and overrides; count tills and deposit money.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
