Job summary

Michaels in Oneonta, NY is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a high-performing team and champion a customer-focused selling culture across the store.

You will drive sales and service KPIs through coaching, SOP compliance, and efficient day-to-day execution, including POS and Self-Checkout excellence.

This role oversees events, loyalty programs, omni-channel services like BOPIS and Same Day Delivery, and protection programs while developing team talent.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience
• Experience leading front-end and service operations
• Proven ability to drive sales and customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
• Model and coach customer experience and selling behaviors to drive conversion.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage and maintain floor leadership and operational continuity.
• Oversee POS and Self-Checkout usage for smooth transactions and support.
• Oversee events and programs (balloons, parties) and the Loyalty Rewards Program.
• Drive omni-channel service including BOPIS and Same Day Delivery.
• Support Custom Framing and Knit & Sew Shop operations.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skills.
• Maintain Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink and ensure safety.
