Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an energetic events coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage customers of all ages, demonstrate crafts, and support add-ons like goody bags and balloons while coordinating with store teams.

You will handle emails, calls, and paperwork, adjust plans per client feedback, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards throughout each event. Nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests and coworkers.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children's events.
• Strong communication, including written and verbal, and listening skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events in-store, including children’s parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants; perform face painting and activities as needed.
• Manage add-ons (goody bags, balloons) and coordinate with store team.
• Handle customer inquiries via email and phone; maintain paperwork and scheduling.
• Ensure store cleanliness, safety standards, and SOP adherence during events.
