Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise daily activities, train staff, and ensure a clean, organized, and safe store environment in accordance with company policies.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, efficient merchandise handling, and loss prevention, with opportunities to lead associates and contribute to store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing, transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping.
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect company assets, including store cash, and follow policies and procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
