Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, training, scheduling, ordering, and customer service. You will lead a team to ensure in-stock levels, accurate pricing, and safe, engaging store presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.
• Mastery of cash register functions to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; counsels as needed, up to termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance and safety expectations; coordinates meetings to promote safety and policies.
• Maintains a clean, organized store and ensures safe environment for customers and staff.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Orders to meet in-stock targets; reviews ordering plans and inventory issues weekly.
• Ensures proper staging, stocking, and merchandising of products.
