Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) in Pensacola, FL seeks a Store Manager to oversee the main store complex and its management team. You will coordinate daily operations, merchandising strategies, and profitability initiatives in collaboration with the General Manager and store leadership.

The role requires strong experience in retail operations, budgeting, and staff development to ensure exceptional customer service, security, and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Three years of general experience in administrative, operational, merchandising or similar responsible work.
• Education can substitute for experience: 1 year of study above high school equals 9 months of experience, up to a 4-year degree for 3 years of general experience.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience in retail and/or services merchandising and operations; knowledge of management methods to drive sales and improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and coordinates daily operational activities to maximize store performance.
• Develops merchandising strategies and promotions with store management to maximize sales and service levels.
• Manages operating budgets and monitors financial performance; takes actions to correct deficiencies and optimize operations.
• Inspects store appearance to ensure customer service, productivity, and financial goals are met.
• Coordinates with Retail Operations Support Manager to ensure efficient storage, receipt and movement of merchandise between departments and stores.
• Reviews stock assortments and works with buyers to achieve stockturn and gross margin targets.
• Collaborates with Loss Prevention to monitor shrink and ensure security procedures; conducts Operational Audits in absence of the Retail Operations Support Manager.
• Ensures communication among store management to meet goals and maintain a team approach.
• Oversees staffing levels, assigns training, and mentors management staff.
