Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to lead and manage associates across multiple departments.
• Must meet physical requirements and minimum age requirements.
• Certified Food Safety Manager or able to achieve accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and develop store associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal, and disciplinary actions.
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store aligned with Food Lion principles, values and strategy.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, friendly service.
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and company assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions to protect associates and customers.
• Ensure compliance with security, safety, and food safety standards.
• Utilize tools such as ACIS, scheduling, CAO, and business information systems.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when Store Manager is absent; oversee day-to-day operations.
• Model exceptional customer service and responsible behaviors.
