Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Store Manager to lead all store processes, including staffing, ordering, stocking, merchandising and selling. You will recruit and train staff, manage performance, and ensure safety and policy compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, cash handling and inventory skills, with responsibility for opening/closing and driving store results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; counseling.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance and safety expectations; coordinates meetings.
• Ensures store is opened and closed regularly; operates at least two openings and two closings weekly.
• Evaluates operating statements for trends, expenses, shrink and errors.
• Manages ordering and inventory planning; reviews BSR and cycle counts.
• Facilitates stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Maintains merchandise presentation and pricing.
• Maintains inventory accuracy; controls damages and markdowns.
• Ensures financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash handling.
• Provides customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensures store is equipped with necessary tools.
• Follows company policies and completes paperwork on deadlines.
