Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations, oversee ordering, stocking, presentation and sales, and ensure policy compliance. You will recruit, train, supervise staff, evaluate performance and maintain a safe, customer-friendly environment.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of cash handling, inventory management and basic operating procedures. You will open/close the store regularly, drive sales, and manage in-store tasks with accountability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Recruits, hires and trains qualified applicants to fulfill a store need.
• Ensures store compliance to federal labor laws and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel when needed.
• Open and close the store at least twice weekly each.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability and shrink.
• Manage stock, ordering, and cycle counts to meet in-stock targets.
• Lead customer service and maintain a safe, organized store environment.
