Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to oversee non-perishable food and general merchandise operations under supervision of the Store Manager. You will manage inventory, merchandising, customer service, safety, and asset protection while ensuring compliance with food handling rules and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary business school training preferred.
• Minimum of three years of retail store experience.
• Experience as Department Head/Assistant Manager or similar role in retail grocery preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Familiarity with local and state food handling regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interviews and recommends selection, hiring and assignment of store staff and department managers.
• Trains department managers in stock levels, ordering, and safe handling of food.
• Coordinates scheduling, performance reviews and corrective actions with Store Manager.
• Maintains relationships with vendors and drop-ship suppliers for timely delivery and proper billing.
• Ensures adherence to 7 Day Workflow Plan, stock levels, and price signage.
• Monitors in-stock targets and pricing accuracy; analyzes sales trends and profitability.
• Oversees security, cash control procedures, and customer service to meet needs.
• Leads receipt and handling of new merchandise and maintains inventory accuracy.
