Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Store Manager-in-training to support the Store Director and learn all areas of store management. Under direction, you’ll ensure departments are staffed, trained and operating efficiently, and you’ll monitor purchasing, stocking, payroll and expenses to safeguard profitability and safety.

You’ll lead teams, review reports, assist with budgeting and scheduling, greet customers, and keep the store clean and welcoming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Business Administration or related field.
• Three years of experience in a retail grocery environment with increasing responsibility.
• One year of supervisory or lead experience in retail.
• Proficient computer skills (email, spreadsheets).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents; accounting/bookkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Regular inspections of all areas and feedback to department managers.
• Review reports, take action and communicate information as needed.
• Engage in financial planning including budgeting, staffing/payroll, facility maintenance and upgrades.
• Communicate and work with SpartanNash personnel.
• Train others to perform all department activities and functions.
• Manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of others.
• Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and customer-friendly department.
