Job summary

SpartanNash, located in Dickinson, ND, is seeking a Store Manager-in-Training to support the Store Director and oversee staffed departments, profitability, and store operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience in a retail grocery environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
• One year of experience in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proficient computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Accounting/Bookkeeping skills.
• Interpretation/analysis of financial statements.
• Development and management of budgets.
• Delegation, direction and implementation of tasks.
• Suggestive selling and knowledge of products.
• Detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections of all areas, providing feedback to department managers.
• Review reports, take action and communicate information as needed.
• Engage in financial planning, including budgeting, staffing/payroll, facility maintenance and upgrading.
• Communicate and work with SpartanNash personnel.
• Train others to perform all department activities and functions.
• Manage the selection, scheduling and supervision of others.
• Greet all customers and provide prompt and courteous service or assistance.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and customer-friendly department.
• Have familiarity with all products carried in the department; know differences in price, taste, preparation and use.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
