Job summary

Family Dollar in Alsip, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, assist customers, and develop a strong team. You will handle merchandising, scheduling, and cash handling while upholding company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Retail store management experience preferred in grocery or drug store environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store areas, displays, and promotional fixtures.
• Assist in ordering, damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful store environment.
