Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods (Golf Galaxy) seeks a passionate store leader to oversee operations in their area of the store. The Assistant Store Manager drives brand and operational excellence, ensuring a hassle-free and engaging customer experience while coaching and developing teammates.

You will manage Front End, Freight and Operations, monitor financial metrics, hiring, payroll, and compliance; lead training, scheduling, and performance reviews to meet sales goals and uphold company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of retail management experience.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages teammates assigned to the Operational Departments (Front End, Freight and Operations).
• Ensures compliance with brand standards, customer service expectations and company policies.
• Monitors and improves cash handling, LP audits, and store safety procedures.
• Oversees back-office procedures including pre-hire paperwork, background checks, payroll changes and personnel files.
• Leads hiring processes, interviews, onboarding, and performance management.
• Drives the customer experience at the Front End through coaching and engagement.
• Analyzes sales data and schedules teammates to align with customer demand.
