Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store. You will supervise staff, manage merchandising, and assist with deposits and paperwork.

You will open/close the store several days weekly, train employees, and ensure policy compliance. A strong focus on customer service and loss prevention is required, with leadership in the Store Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and ring up purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist in scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Assist with planograms; ensure displays meet established practices.
• Ensure store financial integrity: cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist in store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
