Job summary

Family Dollar in Memphis, TN seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise flows smoothly from delivery to floor while maintaining seasonal areas.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a collaborative, high-energy work style. You will help supervise and train staff and uphold store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Move merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
