Job summary

Family Dollar in Memphis is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and help develop the store team. The role includes merchandising, scheduling, payroll, cash handling, and loss prevention to meet company standards.

The position is part-time, focused on maintaining a clean, welcoming sales floor and secure, well-organized stockrooms while upholding safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Weak reading and interpretation of operational directives required; basic literacy and comprehension essential.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communicate related store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll scheduling and cash handling
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Ensure policy compliance and safety guidelines
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
