Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is hiring an Assistant Store Manager of Operations to lead store-wide execution in a fast-paced retail environment. You will coach teammates, optimize processes, and ensure a high-quality athlete experience on the floor and in back-of-house operations.

Responsibilities include strategic planning with the Store Manager, merchandising leadership, and hiring/scheduling to meet budget goals while maintaining safety and policy standards. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience in retail management or customer-focused roles.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Store Manager to develop and execute full-year growth plans, including forecasting and planning 90+ days out, and drives initiatives like in-store pickup and ship-from-store.
• Directly manages a team of Captains and indirectly leads the broader store team through coaching, development, and performance management.
• Upholds merchandising and presentation standards, executes floor sets, signage, price changes, and inventory presentation to support the athlete experience.
• Leads training initiatives, coaches leaders, and builds development plans in partnership with teammates.
• Partners with Store Manager on staffing, payroll, and scheduling to align with budget goals and athlete traffic.
• Hires and builds strong teams by guiding interview and hiring practices for Captains and hourly teammates.
• Ensures safety, policy compliance, and consistent customer service excellence across front and back-of-house operations.
