Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a clean, organized store focused on the customer. You will supervise staff, assist with merchandising, deposits, and paperwork, and perform stocking and cashier duties to maximize profitability and protect assets.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, opening/closing, planogram implementation, and ensuring cash controls with refunds and deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and providing training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy adherence.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and building displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by handling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
