Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-focused store and support the Store Manager with staff supervision, merchandising, and deposits. The role includes stocking, cashiering, and ensuring profitability and asset protection while delivering great customer service.

The position requires coordinating schedules, training employees, and maintaining planograms and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Manage merchandise receipt, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and conduct deposits.
• Implement and maintain planograms as directed by Store Manager.
• Ensure financial integrity via cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager's absence.
