Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and assist with supervision, merchandising, and deposits. The role supports the Store Manager with scheduling, training, and ensuring policies are followed.

The position includes stocking, cashier duties, and enforcing store standards to maximize profitability while protecting assets. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and retail supervisory experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store as needed, and supervise staff under the Store Manager.
• Assist in scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, displays and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with cash control and deposits.
• Support store management in the absence of the Store Manager.
