Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary business training preferred.
• Five+ years of retail store experience; one to two years as a store manager preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret operating statements and identify corrective actions to negative trends.
• Knowledge of cash handling, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices.

Responsibilities

• Reviews operating statements to identify the store's business trends and opportunities.
• Reviews Ad/Planner ordering plans.
• Reviews Perishable and Food ordering processes to maximize sales and minimize markdowns.
• Ensures store meets or exceeds in-stock targets.
• Maintains cashier accountability and security procedures.
• Develops and maintains employee work schedules.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and retains qualified staff.
• Ensures staff compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Plans and leads staff meetings and ensures safety and sanitation standards.
