Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store management professional to oversee all store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, selling, and staffing. You will lead training, evaluate performance, and ensure compliance with company policies.

The role focuses on payroll decisions, safety, and maintaining inventory controls while ensuring the store opens and closes efficiently and profitability trends are monitored.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is appropriately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day; opens the store a minimum of two times per week; closes the store a minimum of two times per week.
