Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leader to oversee all store processes, from ordering to staffing and customer service. You will recruit, train, and coach team members while ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards.

You will manage schedules, monitor performance, and drive in-store execution to meet sales targets. The ideal candidate has retail management experience and strong organizational skills, in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensures proper staffing.
• Provides training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for solutions or counseling, including termination when needed.
• Makes recommendations on pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings to support safety and policies.
• Ensures store is staffed and opened/closed as required; meets in-stock targets.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify sales, profitability, and turn trends; monitors expenses and shrink.
• Reviews ordering plans and inventory issues on a weekly basis; follows up on stock replenishment.
• Facilitates merchandised stockflow and merchandising presentation; ensures pricing and signage accuracy.
• Maintains inventory accuracy; controls damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensures financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Provides superior customer service leadership and maintains a clean, safe store environment.
