Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a General Manager or Store Manager to lead a busy retail location in Georgia. You will oversee staffing, training, and daily store operations, focusing on customer service, sales, and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities include inventory management, merchandising, opening/closing routines, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers and team members. Prior retail leadership experience is preferred.

• Math calculations including percentages and basics.
• Cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong written and spoken communication.
• Interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• Recruiting, interviewing, and termination practices including compliance.
• Store safety and cash control policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain staff per policy; ensure proper staffing.
• Train employees; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps.
• Advise on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate expectations; coordinate safety and policy meetings.
• Open/close the store twice weekly each; ensure daily operations.
• Analyze sales, profitability, and inventory trends.
• Oversee ordering and inventory counts to meet targets.
• Stage, stock and present merchandise per company standards.
• Maintain accurate pricing, signage and fixtures.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and losses.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Keep store clean, organized, safe and welcoming.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available for tasks.
• Complete paperwork per guidelines and deadlines.
