Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and percentage calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Experience using IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Understanding of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring and termination practices, including legal compliance.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Problem-solving abilities across varied situations.
• Spanish language skills preferred for some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and address gaps.
• Advise on pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store regularly; manage daily operations.
• Review sales, profitability and inventory trends; control expenses.
• Plan and review inventory ordering and stock levels weekly.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and presentation of merchandise.
• Maintain accurate inventory and security controls.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash handling procedures are followed.
• Lead superior customer service and a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensure all paperwork and documentation are completed on time.
