Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Retail Operations Lead to drive merchandising, inventory management, and pet-care operations. You will open and/or close the store, oversee associates, and uphold the company’s vision, mission, values and strategy.

You will lead by example, train staff, monitor sales trends, and ensure a safe, clean, and inviting shopping environment in a fast-paced retail setting. This role emphasizes teamwork and customer care. Join us to grow with a values-driven brand.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience.
• Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to maintain an organized, visually appealing store.
• Experience with inventory and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support sales associates in merchandise handling and training.
• Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks.
• Act as the Leader on Duty and supervise when Leaders are unavailable.
• Address employee grievances and drive engagement.
• Execute merchandise strategies, manage inventory, and audits.
• Operate POS systems and ensure cash accuracy.
• Maintain store standards and ensure policy compliance.
• Assist in opening/closing procedures and cycle counts.
• Ensure pet care and safe handling of animals.
• Support online orders pickup/ship from store.
